1. IntroductionIt is likely that anyone might become consequence ofdomestic violence.
In Vietnam, it has been one of the biggest problem that 58%of women possibly deal with recently (Thanh Nien News, 2015, cited in “Domesticviolence in Vietnam”, 2016). “Domestic violence can impact anyone regardless oftheir gender, race, age, culture or religion” (Kanchiputu & Mwale, 2006 ). It has a variety of forms, namelyemotional abuse, physical attack and sexual violence.
There are factors which make up internal aggression, but the root cause is lackof background knowledge about it. The problem is worse due to outdated views which mean in order to maintain happiness in family, women are tolerant and they stillcontinue to suffer from their husband. Meanwhile, being a bread-maker even, menseem to treat their partner unfair anytime for unreasonable causes. Moreover, kids who have forgettable childhood aimlessly become victims of domesticviolence in their family. According to Beth & Brett (2013) ,” Keepingsilent is dying”, however, itis likely that fighting against internal abuse is a long-term strategy. It is high time for victims to have more chances toraise their voice and be paid more attention from different groups, bothneighborhood and local community. Thus, this research will provide updatedfacts, discuss the effects of domestic aggression and suggest efficient techniquesto protect victims from this issue.https://www.
asialifemagazine.com/vietnam/domestic-violence-in-vietnam/2.Discussion of findings2.1.Shocking evidences of domestic violence in Vietnam”For many years almost every Vietnamese woman tookit for granted that unconditional service to men is the natural function, arequired sacrifice, and an expression of self-denial, necessary in the role ofwomen in the family” (Le, n.
d.). Representing womanhood in different discussionforums, a numerous women admit that they are suffering at the hands of theirhusbands due to unreasonable understanding of partners in their daily lives.”Domestic violence is a problem but it is basically a silent problem”(Beth & Brett, 2013). In lieu of raising their voice for assistance, victims silently stand during a long period.
According to Dr Nguyen (2016),”some women think that it is karma and they are suffering for something theydid in their past life”. Traditionally, women have poor background and they arelikely accepted that it is their destiny whether they are beaten by their spouses.Another bigger issue in Vietnam society seems to be the fear of losing dignity. Many women feeling ashamed about what had happen to them intend to hide it fromanyone. After marriage, the happy times end quickly because they might givetheir life to the service of their family, including their husband and childrenin any circumstances. It seems that women beaten up daily for many intolerableyears make every effort to endure life as a human punch-bag. To protect victimsfrom fierce actions, the law which is called “the Law on Gender Equality andthe Law on Domestic Violence Prevention” is enacted by the government (Asialife,2016). However, this problem may be difficult to address, for most womendo not know their rights.
In addition, stereo type of Vietnamese women is tostand sacrifices and hardships. They suffer both physical and psychologicalpain in lieu of accusing their husbands of their violent behaviors in order toavoid family separation and their children. https://www.asialifemagazine.com/vietnam/domestic-violence-in-vietnam/https://link.springer.com/chapter/10.
2.Effects of domestic violence 2.2.
1.Women face to domestic abuseWomen who are most at risk for domestic violence havecoped with physical abuse caused by their husbands. It is clearly seen that thecommon feature of any situations between two genders is an imbalance of controland power. Male representing bread-makerin their families still do not remove thinking that their wives do not completeresponsibilities with their families and often talk back to them inneighborhood.
They constantly use physical actions which bring about injuriesto victims if they tend to run into stiff resistance. Besides, behavior denyingessential needs of victims is physical violence. Men have a tendency to beattheir wives and ignore them when they desire to be helped. In several cases, women also suffer from sexual abuse. Women accidently become winebibbers ordrug addicts as drugs seem to help them to forget their painful bodies.Besides, emotional abuse is likely behavior that threat, intimidation, or thevictim’s freedom limitation.
Psychological violence is impolite statement or conflictaction that might affect to human dignity. Abusers have a tendency to makeefforts to keep victims from contacting with their friends and family. They deem that the victim could not leave therelationship with them because victims impossibly rely on anyone except forthem. Isolation contributes the victim’s internal strength damaging andself-defense ability loosing. In many cases, those women often get severaltroubles which relates to their emotion in lives. They tend to have negativethinking and tackle with problem by suicide.
Unexpectedly, results of variousstudies illustrate that “victims of domestic violence are more likely tomaltreat their children than those who are not abused by their partners” (UN2010). It is worth that they should be received condemnation even though theyunintentionally make wounds of their children.https://www.ukessays.com/essays/social-work/causes-and-effects-of-domestic-violence-social-work-essay.php2.
2.2.Children are influenced by domestic violenceDifferent from Vietnamese women, children areaccidently become consequences of domestic abuse in their families. “41.
2%respondents said that domestic violence affects to the abused child to loseinterest in education” (Kanchiputu& Mwale, 2016). Sometimes, it takes victimized children redundant oftime to do household work, even they absent from school due to verbal aggression and physical injury. Those youngsters could not concentrate on their studies and often have flashbacksabout the abuse (Jaclyn, n.d.) which resulted fromdifferent misunderstanding of their parents. Children’s behaviors are alsoinfluenced negatively by internal violence at school. It is certain that theyuse aggression as a way which they could get what they want. The reason whyboys tend to become more aggressive is that girl students consider it isnormality at school.
In the majority of cases, children witnessing domesticabuse seem to have less chance to enjoy their wonderful childhood than others. They often grow up independently instead of being taken care by their parents. It is probable that victimized kids hide their feeling at home and behave asuneducated people in society. Children are like “a pressure cooker waiting tolet out the stream” (Rebecca, 2011). Certainly, domestic violence causesnegative emotion of the victim who may find it difficult to trust theirpartners in the future marriage. They are often more aggressive in anycircumstances and they treat unfairly to their members of family such as verbalabuse and non-verbal abuse. In many cases, children affected by the violencemight have a terrible long-termimpact on their lives (Jaclyn, n.
Domesticviolence might to be tackled efficientlyAs claimed by Gender andDevelopment Research Institute, 49.7% of families are broken up because offamily violence (Binh, 2011). It is necessary that this problem should besolved as soon as possible by both individuals and the Vietnamese government.Regarding women, they have a duty to make enquiries carefully about future partners before their marriage andthey also should understand more about domestic aggression to protectthemselves whether it happens.
Therefore, women ought to raise their voice ifthey realize that they are victims of mistreat in their homes. Nevertheless, itis high time for the women to maintain good relationship with their spouses bylistening to them to share with them and taking care of their families. In termof children, they had better give numerous good advices to their maternities tolimit unexpected harms for the victim of violence. Furthermore, being witnessesof domestic abuse, children should not behave violently as way their parentstreat each other. With regard to the Vietnamese government, they hadbetter illustrate that what a serious violence issue! Besides, the authorityshould expand financial-support organizations and provide safe accommodationsfor the victim (Legal Guide, 2017). As stated by the FindLaw (n.d.
), there aremany non-profit groups dedicated to helping people cope with domestic abuse. However, those groups had better help women to be economically independent intheir daily life (Cohn, 2014). It is necessary that the Vietnamese governmentmake penalties for internal violence.

As stated by National Study on Domestic ViolenceAgainst Women in Vietnam (2016), one third of 5,000 women aged from 18 to 60year-olds accept that they have suffered physical and sexual violence at thehands of their husband.
This epidemic is apparently popular problem in mostfamilies due to misunderstanding of several aspects between couples in theirlives. Women who suffer both physical and psychological injuries likely becomemajor victims of this matter. Although children only witness violence fromtheir homes and their neighbors, their studies also are badly influenced.Furthermore, creating personality of children tends to change negativelybecause their parents generate imagines of broken family in their awareness andthe fathers accidently teach them who are kids that using violence is the bestway to tackle with problems. The Vietnamese government has enactedlaw relating to women in order to protect the victim from internal abuse.
