Palmer who was a dentist and a recreational game hunter who traveled all the way from Minnesota to Zimbabwe. Cecil’s name was well-known and a big tourist attraction. People from other countries came just to see the the cherished lion. His death broke the hearts of many all over the world.
Dr. Walter J. Palmer became hated by numerous people. His office was often covered in hate notes and he was greatly criticized for is barbaric action. In the last fifteen years, 1.2 million animals have been put to death by Americans who journeyed from foreign countries just to collect the lives of innocent animals, according to NBC Bay Area. However, many look on the other side of recreational hunting because according to the World of Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), “hunters argue that the money spent on their hobby is funding important conservation world.” They use it as a way to justify their horrible actions.
The moral of the point is that Big Game Hunting is an unnecessary and terrible act. In today’s society, animals are treated like worthless beings. As good as one-third of Americans believe animals should be treated with the same rights as human-beings. However, the number of people who don’t outweigh the number who do. People believe that there are bigger problems in the world.
