Glass is used for decorative, architectural and even structural purposes. Modern methods like annealing and heating glass increase strength preventing it from cracking. Plumbed in radiators are usually unappealing. Glass heating however, can be used as an art to create different ambiance that are usually appealing. Glass can be used to make a beautiful radiator. The glass radiator is designed in such a way that it perfectly fits in the central heating system. The modern central heating products can be fixed to the radiator systems. The radiator systems have different sizes. Once the preferred size has been chosen, the customer can choose a photo she prefers either from the installing company’s portfolio or from her personal photos. This creates an appealing piece of art besides preserving and generating heat (Warmus, 9).
Glass blowing is also another way of glass art that creates beautiful art. It entails shaping and molding molten glass in to vessels and other shapes. Quartz and sand are heated at high temperatures to create molten glass. This molten form is then molded in to vessels. In making the vessel, air is blown to the other end of a pipe where the molten glass is placed. This creates a vessel eventually. Items that make the texture of the vase smooth are also added to the molten glass. This makes the final product to be of great quality. Sodium carbonate and materials that can add color to the glass are added to the molten glass. The piece is then left to cool to prevent it from breaking. These artifacts are usually placed in museums and homes. The final product is usually a fine piece of art that gives a great ambiance to the atmosphere it is placed (Warmus, 13).
Glass casting is another method where glass can be used as an art form. Here glass molds are made from resin silica and sand. Items that improve the texture of the final product are also added to the mold. They are heated in to molten form and then shaped in to objects and left to cool. The contemporary cast glass is formed by processes like kiln casting. This method can be used to make transparent glass dishes. The final product always has a wonderful surface that sparkles in light. It is also thick and therefore durable and strong. During the final process of glass casting, the high temperatures raze the mold. This makes every item to be unique and beautiful. The items prepared from the cast glass can be placed in museums and homes as they make beautiful scenery (Warmus, 33).
The temperature-sensitive glass changes color with changes in temperature. They can be used as tiles in houses. They are placed on walls and floors on houses. They change color in relation to the ambient, water or body temperature. The base tiles color is neutral and matches with all colors. The user can change temperature to fit his environment. The color change begins at six degrees to ten degrees Celsius. Once the maximum temperature is passed, the tiles color changes to the base color. It maintains this color until the temperature falls. The tiles make the homes look beautiful. These tiles can also be used on counters. They have six standard lines and each tile has its own glass texture that give different colors at different temperatures. They are also used in art pieces that vary with temperature change (Warmus, 55).
