I strongly believe that the animals in circuses should be let free and circuses should be shut down because of what they do to the poor animals in there. They’re Treated poorly and deserve freedom. Elephants, tigers, and other animals that circuses use to entertain audiences do not stand on their heads, jump through hoops, or balance on pedestals because they want to. They perform these and other difficult tricks because they’re afraid of what will happen if they don’t.

The ‘tricks’ the animals perform aren’t tricks and the animals are actually forced to do this! For example they give a bear a tight collar and hang it to the roof then when the bears go on all fours they’ll be pulled up and forced to stand up again. Tigers naturally fear fire, but they are still forced to jump through fire hoops in some circuses and have been burned while doing so. Trainers use whips, tight collars, muzzles, electric prods, bullhooks and other painful tools to force animals to perform.

From 1997 to 2016, at least 65 circus elephants have died premature deaths due to training hours. In October 2013 Los Angeles City Council voted to ban the use of bullhooks by circus workers. The sharp-tipped tool is used to train elephants, but critics say it inflicts pain. Other items used on elephants, including baseball bats, axe handles and pitchfork are banned as well. The animals have no access to food and water until they perform. Elephant training starts at a very young age.

Mothers give birth with three legs tied down. Then all four legs are tied so babies can be stolen with the mothers unable to protect them. The babies are then tied down and beaten to “condition” them to obey. Elephants are also hit before going on stage at shows to remind them that failure will result in punishment. Some animals are drugged to make them easy to control, or their teeth may be removed so they can’t fight back against their abusers. In some cases, chimpanzees were found with their teeth knocked out by a hammer. Bears have their noses broken and their paws burned to teach them to walk on their hind legs. In more than 35 dangerous incidents since 2000, The animals are abused locked up and in some cases KILLED!! Put yourself in their position, being abused day until end being locked up for messing up a small and single move and scared of humans, afraid of what they will do, afraid of what will happen.

wondering if one day you will be let free to roam the world like you once did. These animals are horrifically mistreated. And these are only some of the things that happen!!!These animals freedom is forced away from them, animals have lives and deserve freedom just like we do. These animals are abused and deserve better than what they get now. I believe that circuses should be shut down and animals should be set free. Animals deserve more than this and the freedom they need.

Animals have spent their whole lives in circuses and deserve so much better, if  a animal misbehaves they get locked up with barely any food or water for a whole day! These animals hate it at circuses and need to be let free! And that is why I think circuses should be shut down and let the animals free to roam the world again. Animals matter.
