Of all the gifts that life has to offer, a loving mother isthe greatest of them all (Unknown, 2018). My mother is perhaps my favoriteperson in the whole world. Her unconditional love, her constant sacrifices, andher inner strength constantly remind me how blessed I am to call her my mom. Sheis the greatest influence in my life. Not only is she my mom, but the bestfriend I could ask for.

She is the reason why I am who I am today. My mother ismore than a mom. She is simply a beautiful individual, inside and out.             When Ithink about what it is to be a mom, I think of someone who makes a choice everyday to put someone else’s happiness and well-being ahead of their own. Someonewho has to keep going even when they’re at a breaking point. I think of someonewho has to teach hard lessons and give discipline even when it breaks theirheart. Most importantly, I think of someone who shows continuous support, hope, and love.

My mother exceeds my expectations. To this day, she is still myWonder Woman.            Lookingback through the years, never once did my mother give up on me. She taught methe importance of pushing through difficult times and to keep trying harder. She doesn’t always agree with the decisions I make. However, she makes surethat I know that she will support me no matter what.

My brother and I’shappiness is so important to her. My mom loved me even when I felt like Ididn’t deserve it. My junior year in high school I fell in love.

I focused moreon my relationship with my boyfriend than I did my mom and I’s. I begandisrespecting my mom and her rules. I remember a time when I snuck out of thehouse and went to my boyfriends. I will never forget the rush of fear thatflowed through my body when my phone began to ring at three o’ clock in themorning. My heart fluttered like the wings of a hummingbird. The drive home wasnever-ending.

My mom’s disappointment still haunts me to this day. Letting herdown is one of the biggest regrets in my life. Although I wasn’t able to gohunting the next morning, she didn’t stay angry with me.

Instead, she talkedwith me and taught me a lesson of having respect and good morals. These traitshave stuck with me ever since.            My mom wasa single mother who raised my brother and I with little help. She never showedsigns of weakness or let us know she was struggling. She got out of bed earlyevery morning even when she had no desire. She managed to get us, and herself, ready without ever being late to work. She used makeup to cover the darkcircles under her eyes caused by stress and lack of sleep. My mom did whateverit took to make sure my brother and I didn’t go without.

She never hesitated todrop what she was doing to rush us to baseball or softball practice, or simplyjust to our friend’s house. She would sacrifice her needs and wants to put oursfirst. Instead of buying herself a new purse, she would buy us a new pair of shoes.Often times, my mom mentions the guilt she feels for not being able to take mybrother and I to Disneyland or to different fun places.

Having new schoolclothes and supplies every year, getting to play sports, and always giving usthe best Christmas never went unnoticed. Her love is what brought us happiness. She taught me the value of family and how important it is to love and supportthe ones closest to you. The bond she created in our little family isunmeasurable.            My mom losther father and two brothers before the age of twenty-one. Heartbroken and lost, she never lost faith in God.

I’m sure there has been plenty of times shewondered what His plan was and questioned why he took three incredible, innocent, and important individuals from her life. The strongest people are notthose who show strength in front of the world but those who fight and win battlesthat others do not know anything about (Harnisch, 2018). Never once did these tragedies stop mymom from being the best mother she could. The strength my mom carries within isastounding. She puts all questions aside and continues to believe and havefaith. My mom has taught me to put my worries and concerns in God’s hands, topray, and to trust that He will guide me through life and always be there forme.

My mother is my strength. She is my safe place.             Recently mymom made a huge change in her life. She decided she wanted to do something shehas always wanted to do but couldn’t because she was focusing on raising herkids. My mom decided to go to college to pursue a nursing career.

Words cannotbegin to describe how proud I am of her. She studies hard and does homework formany hours each day. She has continued to push herself to work hard even whenshe has felt like giving up. Her 4.0 GPA shows that hard work pays off.

Watchingher succeed brings me so much joy. Her strong work ethics, kind heart, anddrive to help others will allow her to become a wonderful nurse. My mother hasshown me that with determination one can accomplish anything.            The impactmy mom has made in my life is endless.

There are not enough words to explainhow important she is to me, and what a powerful influence she continues to be.My mom is an inspiration in everything I do. I would not be half the woman I amtoday if it wasn’t for her. She has taught me to be happy and true to myself. My mom has encouraged me to always try my best and never give up. She has shownme how to be a loving, caring and strong mother to my own daughter.

Her heart is filled with compassion. I willstrive to forever carry her heart in mine.
