It was the time when everything was made including the rivers, deserts, rocks, mountains and plants. The Dreamtime is part of the origin stories for the Aboriginal people of how the world came to be and how they as people came to be. The stories are told to them and passed down generations to explain the world around us. G)  FIND A DREAMING STORY AND EXPLAIN HOW IT COULD PROMOTE THE HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF ABORIGINAL AND TORRES STRAIT ISLANDER PEOPLE.The Dreamtime story ‘Emu and Jabiru,’ is a story about two brother-in-laws and how they were separated from greed. Gandji and Wurrpan were brother-in-laws who lived at a place called Nurrurrumba with their children. One day Gandji and his children went fishing for stingray, the water was clean and clear making it easy to spear. They went ashore and cooked the stingrays separating the meat from the fat.

When they arrived back home Gandji called for one of Wurrpan’s children to come and collect their share, but what Wurrpan didn’t know was that when Gandji had separated the meat and the fat, they had kept the fresh ones for themselves and gave the old bits to Wurrpan and his family. When one of Wurrpan’s children realised they had got the old bits Wurrpan started arguing with Gandhi. They argued and argued until Gandji says that Wurrpan should catch his own stingray and throws hot coals at Wurrpan. Then Gandji scared of his reaction started jumping in fear, he started flying and as he flew he turned into a Jabiru and flew away. Wurrpan started aiming at him with a spear and it went right through Gandji making him fall from the sky. Wurrpan and his children start running away and as they were running they started to change into Emus which made them run faster.
