  Photovoltaics has already becomesignificantly cheaper than grid electricity in several industrializedcountries. Perovskite solar cells has shown the largest energy conversionefficiency increase of all photovoltaic technologies available in the present.A perovskite solarcell has a perovskite structured compound, mostly a hybrid organic-inorganiclead or tin halide-based material, as the light-harvesting active layer. Theyare available cheaply and are easy to manufacture. They possess many intrinsicproperties. Some of them are as follows:·      Broad absorption spectrum ·      Fast charge separation·      Long transport distance of electrons and holes·      Long carrier separation lifetimePerovskite solarcells (PSCs)can absorb light across almost all visible wavelengths and possessexceptional power conversion efficiencies exceeding 20%.OBJECTIVE: As perovskite solar cells possess very high energy efficiency atcheaper costs, they have become a point of focus.

But due to structural softness, thermal instability andsolubility in water, fabrication of the perovskite layers and the stability ofperovskite solar cells represent major challenges. The two main problemsexisting in PSCs presently are:·      Hysterical behaviorof current-voltage measurement·      InstabilityWe will be covering the status of lead halide perovskite thinfilms solar cells and comparing them to the conventional silicon solar cells.The main objective of the paper will be to discuss the main challenges thatlead halide perovskite solar cells are facing and discussing the solutions thathelped to overcome them. METHODOLOGY:The main methodology used for this project will be studying thestructure of the perovskite solar cells and discussing the solutions used in overcoming the major challenges of thesecells.

For these we will be looking at various webinars to know about therecent development in the related field. We will be comparing the conventionalsolar cells with the perovskite solar cell. EXPECTED RESULTS:·       Proving that perovskitesolar cells is advantageous over conventional solar cells in terms of cost andefficiency.
