Since the very beginning of the mankind, urban planning was among the main issues to deal with; because planning helps us  to organize our activities and to predict the future. It’s the basic idea that cities have also been put into account in planning.

However, as the world population keeps on growing up, this development is bringing some problems to our world since there is over exploitation of the earth resources. Each year millions of fossil fuels are consumed by humans for their needs. From statistics that have been published by BP in 2015 coal consumption decline by 1% but the world set new consumption records for petroleum and natural gas.  It was increased by 0.6% which is equivalent to 127 million metric tons of petroleum was 2.6 times the overall increase in the consumption of renewables (48 million metric tons of oil equivalent).

As a result carbon dioxide emissions in 2015 were 36 million metric tons higher than in 2014. In 2016, the IEA Oil Market Report worldwide average demand of nearly 96 million barrels(15,264 million litres) of oil and liquid fuels per day that works out to more than 35 billion barrels(5,565 billions litres) a year. Production reached 97 million barrels(15423 million litres) per day in late 2015.

But some cities and some car companies found a solution about that. Like in Barcelona there are parks inside of some units (with buildings) and no cars are allowed to drive in that area. This strategic plan helps to reduce not just the harmful gases in atmosphere but even the fuel consumption . Some other cities have build electric stations for charging the cars . Some big Japan car companies found  a solution by creating hybrid cars and electric cars. An electric car is an automobile that is propelled by one or more electric motors, using energy stored in rechargeable batteries. The first practical electric cars were produced in the 1880s.

Electric cars were popular in the late 19th century and early 20th century, until advances in internal combustion engines, electric starters in particular, and mass production of cheaper gasoline vehicles led to a decline in the use of electric drive vehicles. In conclusion technology and urban planning gonna have a drastic change in a near future.  And the world will have lower percentage of harmful gases.  And the usage of electric cars will be higher.
