The word nutrition is associated with the whole process of taking food into our body and absorbing the nutrients by which those foods are composed.
This essay with describe the main groups of food involved in nutritions, theimportance they have in our daily diet and the risky diseases that come frompoor nutrition. Nutrients are dividedinto seven classes which are: carbohydrates, fats, fiber, minerals, proteins,vitamins, and water. They can be further separated in two groups:macronutrients and micronutrients. Macronutrients are nutrients we need in largequantities and they are formed of carbohydrates, proteins and fats, consumptionof which provides energy for the body. They also include fiber and water whichdo not provide energy but are as important as the other macronutrients, becausefibers reduce the risk of heart diseases and water is vital for many processesof the human body. Micronutrients, on the other side are required in smallerquantities and they are composed of minerals and vitamins.
All this nutrientsmust be in a balance for the body to function properly. But why are they soimportant?These seven nutrientshave an enormous impact on our daily diet and health issues. Carbohydrates provideenergy for the body and that way our metabolism can perform reactions and regain stability. Theyare needed brain and organs function, for physical activity,for intestinal health and waste elimination. Proteins are vital in the maintenance of bodytissue, hair, eyes, skin, body tissue, muscles and organs which are all made ofthis nutrition.
Fat maintainsyour body temperature, provides energy and absorbed vitamins. Also good fatsprotect the heart and keep the body healthy. Fiberis important to digestion, heart’shealth, blood sugar regulation, cancerprevention, cholesterol maintenance, weight management. Vitamins areanother nutrient needed. These organic compounds are essential for normalgrowth and are necessary for our diet because they cannot be synthesized by thebody.
